DIH²

25 solutions funded

The DIH² started as a project funded by Horizon 2020 – the European Union research and innovation programme tasked with bringing great ideas from lab to market. DIH² believes in the power of robotics to transform the agility of manufacturing in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and to drive economic growth across the European Union. Its role is to facilitate the connections that enable agile production in factories, where speed and versatility are essential to satisfy customer demand. DIH² seeks to generate innovation that maximises productivity and optimises agility in manufacturing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-Caps across the European Union. In addition, our. goals include improving the cost effectiveness of advanced robotics solutions and driving growth of the robotics market.

DIH² is now established as non-profit industry-academia association with a network of over 130 Digital Innovation Hubs in 34 countries and growing weekly basis to ensure the representation of every region of Europe.

Services

Education – In DIH² one of its goals is to support the uptake of innovation in manufacturing SMEs. To deliver this ambition, they’ve designed a series of training modules that are freely available to the Network members.

Digitization Audit – The Digitization Audit tool is designed to help DIHs assess the digital maturity level of a manufacturing SME. It’s also a great way for DIHs to meet potential new customers for their services.

  • The tool is designed to be easy-to-use by LERs or other experts within a DIH and is delivered through face-to-face contact with key decision makers in a manufacturing setting.
  • It will help a local DIH expand its CRM database, obtain in-depth knowledge of its clients (KYC) and understand industrial sectoral challenges across Europe.

Automation Roadmap

  • The Automation Roadmap will project and prioritize digitization projects for SMEs for the following three-year period. It will enable solutions to be found for the challenges identified through the audit process by building strong business cases and calculating the relevant ROIs for the manufacturing entity.
  • It is a highly effective way for DIHs to build strong, meaningful relationships across industry by bringing together SMEs and Technology Providers.

Robot days – Robot Days provide decision-makers from manufacturing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises the opportunity to find out how to increase productivity through automation. It is also a forum to share experiences, ideas, best practice and challenges with peers as well a connecting with experts in your region.

  • Find the right robotics solutions for your factory.
  • Meet service partners who can provide ongoing support.
  • Receive information on funding opportunities.
  • Discover the latest updates on production, robotics and agile production.

Mobility program – The DIH² short-term mobility program is designed to foster the community of practices and to promote cross-border collaboration between DIH members by exchanging best practices via an in-person experience.

Shaping European Policy – The DIH² Network takes an active role in contributing to policy makers recommendations. This is part of the Network’s focus on improving the policy mix and better defining national and European level interventions, especially the programming of funding
